When those hot, dog-days of August roll around and everybody is out paddling on the bath water warm Potomac, WaterDogs will be making our annual week long pilgrimage to the Ottawa River!! The Ottawa River is one of the best whitewater rivers in North America. Multiple channels, multiple lines through every rapid and daily changes in river flow mean great paddling every day. Whether you are looking to improve your paddling skills in bigger rapids or are looking to step up with some of the newest freestyle moves, the Ottawa has everything you could ask for and more.

WaterDogs will guide and escort you down every rapid. We provide additional instruction throughout the week, both on the river and at our campground's semi-private lagoon and beach. WaterDogs will take care of the lodging, as well as providing our own style of gourmet meals (unique, yet tasty!) so you are well-fortified for whatever comes your way. Not only do we paddle (after all it's why we are up there) but we keep ourselves entertained with the occasional leap from Lemmings Rock, the always vigorous game of four square or frisbee golf, and what trip could be complete without MadLibs around the campfire. As added incentive (as if there weren't enough already!!!), students signing up for the Ottawa trip are encouraged to get as much prep time as possible by coming out with us weekly for as many classes as they can fit in prior to the trip

Mid Week Vacation Packages


Interested in a paddling vacation that is both fun and challenging, but can't get that week off this year to go to Ottawa? New this year we are offering midweek mini-vacation packages. Our instructors will guide you down the beautiful Youghigeny River in Ohiopyle, PA, where you will have the opportunity to push your skills to that next level. After running rapids like Cucumber Falls, Schoolhouse Rock, and surfing at Swimmer's Hole, the evening will be spent relaxing around the fire at our campsite in Ohiopyle State Park. We will take care of transportation, food, and the campsite, as well as providing clinics on the water while we paddle, so your paddling vacation will be a memorable one. Cost - $195.00
